Inky Lips Letterpress is owned and operated by Casey McGarr

Since 2001, Inky Lips Letterpress has produced custom invitations and poster work for various local, national, and international clients and taught educational workshops. His work has been recognized in national and international publications and gallery exhibitions. He has worked as a professional designer for over 25 years at an advertising agency and as a creative director for Fossil.

Casey is an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University-Commerce, teaching in the Visual Communication program at the Universities Center at the Dallas Campus. He teaches undergraduate typography, design, letterpress, and Master of Fine Arts: Design Education Practicum, Design Teaching Methods (Pedagogy), and Thesis Exhibition.

He received his MFA in Visual Communication at Texas A&M University-Commerce, and previously taught graphic design at Arkansas State University.

The shop operates a Vandercook Universal lll, Vandercook Universal l, and a Conrad Monotype Press 24″ x 48″. We have ten cabinets of metal and wood type and various other equipment to complete the letterpress printing process. We cut our own wood type using a Fireball CNC Router.

McGarr was the president of the Dallas Society of Visual Communication from 2000-2001.
